    Thanks Chris!
I plan to move the engine forward in the chassis and instal my next generation of front lower support one mod at a time. For now the car will be mostly stock, but with a Capri engine and grey interior. I want to document the difference with each chassis mod. I have a feeling this car will be a handful with the B6d in the stock location and no front reinforcement. My 89 festy liked to spin and TQ steer more than Tweak and that was with a whopping 55 ponies. This thing will probably put 120 to the ground. Hmmm. Should be an interesting experiment. I want to see what makes the biggest difference in traction and driveability.

I definitely look forward to seeing the results you discover since I'll want to follow your footsteps on my next KL festiva build.... Current one is gunna go RWD lol

      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

Here is the stock 88 Festy harness out of Pedro. I've decided to just use it to power all the chassis stuff (lights, wipers, radiator fan, gauges and coil). I pulled it all apart and took out all the wires that I won't be using. I'm going to build a separate harness for the engine management. This way I can just unplug the engine management down the road if I decide to put a tunable system in, like Megasquirt or The Russians system.

I installed all the wires and untangled a bunch of stuff. Then, with all the wires going where they needed to be, I rewrapped the harness.

I then took the harness back out to finish wrapping it and make some alterations for the new unplug-able fuel injection.

I modified the stock engine mount to clear the DOHC timing cover. This mount also now drops the engine 1/2" for more hood clearance. I made some spacers to lower the tranny crossmember too.

                            Now for the good stuff!

I built the basic long block and wrapped it up to transport it out to the car (in a storage lot on the other side of town). I'll build the rest of the engine at the car.

The engine mount uses 1 3/8" spacers between the original festiva engine mount bracket and the block. The mount was modified to accommodate the spacers and brings the engine back you it's original location, except 1/2" lower for hood clearance.

Pedro now has twice as many cams, twice as many valves and an extra .3 liters. There is still a ways to go before the car is running. I will put the manifolds and other bits on next weekend and then I can build the engine harness.
