  • ToSloTrk's B6t project thread

Just thought I'd start a belated build thread on the B6t Festiva I bought from Strech88.
Here is the FS post with a few pictures of when I bought it http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...car-MAKE-OFFER
The car had been originally built by Shadetree quite a few years ago but had seen some changes with the addition of a G-series transfer and a coilover setup by Skeeters Keeper.
Shadetree offered to pick the car up and go over the mechanicals for me as the car needed a number of things to get it ready for the road. It all worked out great as it morphed into much more of a project than I expected and I no longer have nearly as much time to work on projects as I used to.

Here are a few pics of the car as it was when Shadetree picked it up.

The original plan was for Shadetree to get the car mechanically sound and ready to run. Didn't take long until changes started piling up.

Here is a list of things Shadetree installed and changed ( and I'm probably missing some)
AEM water methanol system to replace inter cooler.
Glowshift 3 in 1 gauge with boost, oil pressure, oil temperature
The car had a tan interior and I prefer gray. Shadetree wanted a nice tan interior so he did a complete swap.
    Advancedynamics front core support mod
    Wideband air/fuel gauge
    Painted bumpers
    Smoothie taillights
    New wheels and tires

Here are a few current pics.

A huge shout out for Shadetree for working with me as the project morphed from a simple get it running to a major project. I'm certain I've failed to list quite a bit that he's done.
I can report that the car runs and drive awesome. I've got a list of things I want to do before I consider it completed.
    To do list:
    Tint windows
    Install nice cleaned door cards
    Install EGT seats,map pockets,and armrests
    Install hybrid EGT/Festiva console
Install Glowshift dual air intake gauge (this is just for fun and see how much water-meth cools intake charge)
    Buff and polish paint

Ill try and get pics and update as the project continues

Looking awesome. Is that a civic radiator? If so did you have to modify the lower hose outlet with the rad being moved forward with the support mod?

Nope. I ran a water methanol on my '94 Lightning and it dropped intake temps significantly. We'll see what intake temps are after I get intake temp gauge installed.

Yes, it is. That's one of the things Shadetree modified. Not sure what had to be done to install.

Tweak has been running with 15psi+ and no intercooler, with water meth for 5 years now and it works great. If it works in the Phoenix 115 degree heat, it should be fine in PA, lol.

Beautiful car! I love seeing projects come together this well.

Battery is on passenger side right behind headlight.

Thanks, I'm sure it'll be fine with just water methanol. I want to get my dual air intake gauge installed and see how much it drops temps.
