Finished the passenger side of the rad support today. I'll wait until it's in the other car to figure out where to drill the holes since I don't have the Sanden compressor yet.

Also pulled the Miata motor out of storage and started disassembly. I need to make some mods to my engine stand before it'll mount to it.

Yeah, me and Ben want to backup full write ups, text pics and all. Let me know if you need any help with the editsOriginally posted by theastronaut View PostI haven't downloaded the PB pics yet. They're still on photobucket so they're not "lost" unless photobucket goes under, which is fairly likely now. My main issue is the thousands of posts I'd have to edit to replace the photobucket links. I have around 25 build threads on various forums with hundreds of pictures linked in each one. Some of them are very popular topics that get a lot of traffic and a few are in the top ten most viewed in their respective forum section. I also have a few 'how-to" topics that were very popular on the Chevy truck forum that I'll need to edit now.

Do you have them backed up locally? I would be glad to help you Archive them and re-upload to Imgur, etc. I hate to see dead links, and Mass-Archival of the Forum content is something Ben and I have been planning for a little bit now.Originally posted by theastronaut View PostYeah they just changed their terms of service and hiked the price on their top tier membership level. Only the top level will have the ability to post pictures off site. It's ridiculous. I was paying $2.99 a month the last few years.

Yeah that's a drag. Are you sure about the $399 a year? When I used Photobucket a few years back to link to my CraigsList adds I was running I had their upgraded service for $24.99 a year. I considered it a fair price at the time. I did notice the dead links on the '40 Packard restoration. I admire your diverse taste in things automotive.

Thanks Nate! I'm going to make jigs when I pull it back out so I can reproduce the mounts easily next time. I'd like to find a GL Sport and B6t swap it eventually so having jigs will make than an easy swap.Originally posted by skeeters_keeper View PostMaking some great progress! Glad you enjoyed them! Unfortunately with photobucket deciding that they want to charge $399 a year to host pictures off-site all of my past threads will have dead pic links from now on.Originally posted by Rick the Quick View PostNice work! Got a good start on the lower radiator support. The driver side is pretty much finished. The left plate over the bumper mount needs more trimming around the compressor but I'll wait until it's on the other car and I have the (smaller) Sanden compressor to finish trimming it. I also need to get a Civic radiator so I can make mounts for that.

I also found the flange measurements for a Honda F22 header to compare to the B6. I can't find a readily available B6d header but the measurements between the F22 and B6 are close enough that I should be able to buy a B6 flange and weld it onto the F22 header. I'll buy a cheap one off eBay to see if it'll work.

I got the VW mostly finished about two weeks ago and and have been driving it the last week when it's not raining. You can see it in the background of a few of the pics from when I was making mounts for the Festiva. It'll be off to a new home soon.

For the front mount I made a paper template, then transfered that to 1/8" steel plate.

Made a couple bends on the brake, drilled the mounting holes, and welded the plate to the spacer plate on the urethane mount.

Since the car will have air I used the plasma cutter to open up the area around the compressor. I didn't butcher it as badly as it looks, I'll make a reinforced lower radiator support to go back in.

Test fit the bumper to check clearances.

Engine bolted in it's final position with the new mounts. There's plenty of firewall clearance for air filter and syncing the carbs with a flow gauge.

I'll be busy all day tomorrow but I'll try to make the lower radiator support on Wednesday and tear down the B6ze and B6t later this week.
