Man. That's some incredible work. I'm super jealous. Especially of the ath bumper. I'd sell my soul for one of those.

I got some more progress to post on here, I got the right sized belt to finish my power steering pump delete setup

Also finished up the rad hoses and heater core hoses

And I got the factory 626 coolant overflow reservoir mounted

And the last clearance issue is solved lol

I also started test fitting the VW fan to the rad and realized it's too bulky and actually interferes with the coolant pipe I just made up, so I put the grille/headlights back on and measured and I have enough room to put a slim fan in front of the rad, so I'll go that route with it

                      1988 323 Station Wagon KLG4 swap

                      Ordered some new fans

Then started working on getting the lighting up front working, the turn signal housings had a lot of corrosion in them so I decided to refresh them with some LED's

The headlights still aren't working but I believe the problem is inside the dash, possibly from mice chewing on the wires but that's the next job to do

But in the meantime, here's a shot I thought looked pretty cool

Found the problem with the headlights, turned out to be a missed connection under the hood, very easy fix lol

But I still knew there was a mouse infestation in the dash so time to pull the interior..... Something I've been dreading......

This first pic didn't turn out the best but you can see the nests inside the vents

Everything out, and I mean everything lol

I spent a couple hours washing doen the firewall, floors, all the ducting including the HVAC unit etc to get rid of any evidence/smell from the mice

The insulation on the firewall had obvious signs where the mice had been so instead of trying to clean it and risk having the smell come back, I decided not to re-install the insulation and hope that the noise level won't increase too much without it

Afterwards I got the HVAC, dash, pedal assembly and steering column re-installed before calling it a day

Today I took the carpet to the car wash and pressure washed it and once it's dry I can finish putting the interior back together

I can almost finally see the finish line to getting this car on the road

Stripping out the interior is quite a job on a Festiva and it looks like there are a few more things to remove in the 323 wagon.
Too bad the Festiva firewall insulation won't fit the 323. I removed some nice pieces from a 93 a couple of weeks ago.

Mr. Clean Lemon Scent concentrate multipurpose cleaner did a good job with odor elimination when I washed down Rosie's insides.

With all that body work in addition to everything else you sure have put a lot of time and energy into that car,
I'm sure it will look, smell and run good when you finish.

The further I get into this car, the more I see just how far gone it was..... The previous owner was ready to send it to the junkyard, and I understand why.... I'm sure he'll be blown away to see how far I've brought it back to life

I think yesterday I had 7 hours into removing/cleaning the interior and it's still not done, I couldn't even begin to add up the hours I've put into it but I've truly enjoyed it
