Oh? Do you have really stiff front front struts? What kind of tires? What i have noticed with different kinds of cars-festivas included is that if you have decent tires and actually brake real hard the rears will lock up because all the weight transfers to the front. Your getting the rear to squat down?

I've got to get the car setup first. I decided to postpone the engine swap and just run the B3 relocated for now. It's maiden voyage will be Laguna Seca Feb. 20th.

Those tracks are 6.5-8.5 hours away. It's not out of the question, just going to need some careful planning. It will definitely happen sometime this year.

FMS springs, kyb struts, dual rear springs, and xr2 front brakes. The whole brake system was rebuilt, and the drums were adjusted as tight as possible so that they applied before the front. This was mainly for pedal feel as I like a high pedal engagement. The tires are 185/60-14 x 6 +35. As it is, when I jump on the brakes, the whole car sits down. Can't explain why, but I like it.

I have had the same problems with the aspire rear swap. Once you move the engine forward and take weight out of the back the rear tires just want to lock up with hard braking and turning. Out of curiosity are you considering using Aspire drums and spindles to get around the need to redrill the wheel pattern?

Laguna is going to make you wish you had a B6t. Lol. Are you taking the Vette too? Definitely a HP track. The big bore cars are going to pass you on the uphill and hold you up through the corkscrew. It'll still be a blast. If we badge our cars as Mazda 121 then maybe we can do that yearly Mazda event.

What do you mean by "dual rear springs"?

I use drilled Festiva drums on my cars, but this one has an Aspire rear setup. I haven't totally decided what I'm going to do in the rear. I want to raise the beam mounting point so I can lower the center of gravity and still be in the "sweet spot" of the beam travel. I might make my own beam, but it's really hard to beat the stock beam.

Just the mighty 50hp Festiva. I'm just excited to track a properly setup Festiva. I got the 120 treadwear nankangs. I didn't even have matching tires on the last build.

Doing a track day with you would be awesome. I'll do my best to get a decent build going to make it worth going.

I pulled this for the donor engine to build for Casper. It's a BP4W. I'll use the BP05 for initial chassis testing and then swap it for this engine with a few minor modifications.

Oh Charlie, I didn't see you asked about the dual rear springs on Scrappy. There's a thread on here about it from a while back, but the long and short of it is the FMS rears didn't have enough rate to keep me from bottoming out with any weight in the car, and the kyb valving on the slow circuit was crap, so I created a spring to sit inside the FMS rears that have next to no preload at full droop to keep noise down. It allowed me to carry stuff in the rear and keep things fairly comfortable. I used it to get 2 full dress b6ts half a trans and other parts from Canada, with Caety, and I rubbed once the entire trip home. The rear was tucked once loaded.
