So I know I haven't posted for way too long. So last year took me through the first week of December to paint the swaybar, install the kia rack and pinion, new inner tie-rods and outer tie-rods, and front capri brake swap. I was lucky enough to get it in storage like the night of the first snow here. Unfortunately for my festiva I wasn't thinking and completely under estimated the importance of pinch bolts in control arms/hub and while dragging it both control arms came undone and I kept drag it but since the half shafts weren't connected to anything the tires went sideways and since it was lowered so much (8 in springs in front) it messed up the front fenders, luckily not too bad.
Then in June I finally took it out of storage and besides mocking up the ram horn manifold a few weeks ago, basically did nothing until last week (I took the whole week off from work). So I took the dash out removed the last of the carpet, removed the front fenders, realized mice had nested in the area below the windshield where the wiper motor are moves, so I cleaned that out. I unwrapped the section of the festiva wiring harness between the driver side fender and radiator and completely wrapped the small wiring harness that connects to the batter and the engine fuse links. I rewrapped the capri wiring harness, cut a whole in the firewall, and completed wring it up to the festiva ignition/power based of Chris's guide and the wiring for dummies like me post. Then after that I replaced both the control arms and reused my polyurethane bushings and replaced the new capri outer tie-rods with festiva outer tie-rods. Then I painted the valve cover to match the engine because I couldn't bare to look at the flaking black crap anymore. When re-installing the valve cover I discovered the capri service manual I had had a type and said 69-95 ft-lbs instead of in-lbs so I broke one bolt then I broke another because the 3/8 toque wrench I had bought the day before didn't work properly and I broke another bolt. I was able to get some 6mm-1.0mm thread x 40mm flange bolts from the hardware store and used the mis match bolts under the plug wires. Then I fabricated the front and rear transmission mounts for the g-series from the capri. I've been cleaning off hoses and such that I need to put back on the engine, I also bought two front tires to go on the capri rims, and I was able to find an cracked (used) oem capri manifold. I still plan on trying to make the ram horn manifold but it will save me time to make it drive-able as I'm just itching to get driving. so tomorrow I'm getting the tires mounted as I bought them online and picking up the capri turbo manifold. Then I just have to re-assemble the engine hoses/brackets, the turbo/manifold and drop it in. unfortunately I feel like it might still take me a week or two as I'm back to work now.
I'll try to upload pics later
