  • Ya, sometimes you need a weekend away from the house, work and cars to refresh.
I had been working too much at work and on my cars and ended up in the hospital last weekend. Came out of there and got my wife to drive me straight to work and got 7hrs in before the morphine wore off. But i had to work all this week and tried to keep going on the cars and still feel horrible now.
If i had taken a break from the cars and a day off work i would probably be fine and more productive by now :/

        • Find a place where you enjoy working, that's what I did.
I hated my last job stayed there over 2 years because I thought I needed it. I found this job same line of work and love it, make more too!

          • Thats the hard part for me. I get paid very well for the area. Hard to find this money other places. I have been thinking about giving up my job and going to toyota. The top pay for a basic guy after 8 years is like 31$an hour now. Id be totally fine with that! Plus my wife could Transfer there. WOuld be nice to work the same hours as her! Ride together to and from work but maybe work on other lines just for some room.

IDK we will see how this job goes. I am in line to be the service engineer. If that happens its a sweet job.

                • ^ that's the way it should be. I love what I do as well. Most days, of course... there area always times when work feels more like work.

If you hate what you have to do 50-60+ hours a week, then you should find something else.

                  • Mike, as motivated as you are, you may be able to do something where you are your own boss. Keep an eye open for a service in your area that is needed or overpriced. You're pretty dang resourceful.

                      My resourcefulness is my wallet!

Back to overkill. I took it for a test drive. At 1st had the wastegate washer missing. Fixed that then it was idle. Fixed that then a hose clamp broke. After that it was burnout ti.e.

Car is doing good minus the tune. Will get with carlos soon to get it all figured out.

                          • Overkill is on the road but parked for now. She needs a tune. Its running very rich. I could not help myself tho i had to test drive it. Suspension is not full set up yet. I still need to dial it in. I tried to set toe to as close to 0 as i could by myself. Its pulling very straight unless i hit a major bump or something then she move around a bit. I think suspension will help cure that tho. Steering is heavy as well. Its rio swapped rack but i think from others comments on facebook that my random camber is the cause of the heavy steering. Im hoping that adding the right camber helps the steering issue some.

At this point i have done a few burnouts and the LSD seems to work great. I have not heard it in a parking lot clicking yet tho.

The one nice cop was outside in front of the cop shop. So i went to give him crap. Asked him if his car can do a burnout. He said dude my car will eat yours alive. I asked him to get in and ill prove him wrong...he wouldn't. He told me dude you need a hood and a bumper that thing would obliterate someones car if you hit them and probably hurt yourself. I said if i hit someone in this pop can im done! He said but dude get a hood. I said we both know i dont have to have one. He kinda laughed and then asked but how much power does it really make. I said it has made 374 before. He asked me to do a burnout with a grin on his face. I said it wont do it and took off. Its so strange that he is as nice as he is and our other cops are such donkeys!

                              • Some cops are still people too, and some of those cops are still car people. You're lucky to have a guy like him in your community.
