How necessary is the plate that stiffens the front end if you have a full bumper (i.e. not cut up to fit an intercooler)?

Having a bumper beam doesn't make the reinforcement any less necessary. That beam is basically a few layers of sheet metal, not that rigid. Remember, cars are made to basically collapse to absorb a collision.

The bumper beam is pretty rigid for what it is because of the shape and bends, but its not what were reinforcing. Its the lower rad support that doesnt have the rigidity needed for more power.
As far as necessity its sort of like the advanced suspension. Stock will do but its a whole lot better when modded.

I guess i'll have to do it then! For some reason I have a hard time imagining where the in the lower rad support would be. Wouldn't it want to compress with more force pushing on the sway bar? It appears plenty strong for compression.

I wonder how much it would help with involuntary steering with acceleration/deceleration...

The sway bar bolts to it and with more power pushing foreward on the sway bar the rad support deflects and causes the torque steer your asking about. Thats why people do the mod, is so that the car drives straight

I accidentally deleted "flex." Where in the lower rad support flex would be.

So I would be trying to prevent the whole front of the car from shifting by primarily reinforcing where the lower rad support joins to the frame rails?

You weld plates to the frame of the car on each side. Then u bolt or weld a bar to the plates to makes the fro t end suoer stiff. It stoolps the flex and helps duce torque steer.

B6T Rocketchip is mounted and wires are ran through the firewall. Im going to stop by the store on my way home to see if i cant find a large rubber grommet to seal up the hole better. I didnt cut to big of a hole to start with, and i only put a t slit in the carpet. So it should seal up even without the grommet but im building this car for someone so i will cut no corners on it. Will be done to the best of my current abilities.

This weekend i will finally mount the motor! Then it will start to feel like i have made some progress on her.

The frame is now beat in to clear the g series. I used some jb weld to smooth out the hammer marks and hide the lip from the top of the frame. I used jb weld because i had a lot on hand and it was only meant to make the frame look factory but not perfect. I just didnt want to deliver the car with a beat to hell frame.

The motor is mounted. My new cheap drill didnt work out...(flames)...or did it. Gonna pick up a good drill tonight. I added a new brace to the core support to make the cross member mount better. I didnt like how close the hole would have been to the edge of the support.

My next core support i will will cut the sides of the angle iron back like in the drawings i made.

I hope to have Britstiva done by end of the year.

Britstiva didnt get the love it should have over the break. An old friend from school that is now in the army stopped by for a visit. Work has continued on Britstiva since. The suspension is fully done. The correct brakes are finally in the garage! I am replacing the front bearings and shims now. Soon the car will be sitting on its own rims again. Then i turn to installing the intercooler and finishing the wiring up. Im so ready to finish this project and deliver the car. I want to get started on a few other projects but need the space and time to do them.

Sadly i ran out of fuel and the local gas station was out as well. Been working on her in the freaking cold the last 2 days. Get 20 minutes in and gotta go warm up sucks.

I have finished the brakes and suspension! The axles are installed. I need to install the shift linkage still. The manifold is back on and i have a plan for the intercooler tubing. I have a kit i bought from another member here but its not very good. I will remake as much as i can. to make it better fitting. The Car is coming right alone. I cant wait to finish it up.
