So, I'm finally getting around to actually installing some of the parts I've collected for this thing since I bought it earlier this year. My goal is to make it a quick and great handling sleeper for the street and also as a learning tool for all things tuning.
Capri xr2 donor car:
The garage is small and is more of a workshop. It's much more clean and organized now!
Bye bye xr2:
To be fair, the xr2 was kept in a trailer barn, dirty and faded and a lot of the plastics and switches etc. were in too poor condition to salvage it as a whole car. The perfect donor essentially.
The Capri had the short nose crank so I found a long nose Miata engine:
Advanced suspension before slotting the fronts and grinding the rears:
Aspire rear spindles before and after threading:
'04 Rio calipers compared to Festiva calipers:
Front coilovers, '04 Rio knuckles and big brakes installed:
Old stuff:
Front's are done, rear beam is out and anticipating the instillation of an Aspire setup after I rebuild the rear wheel bearings:
BMW bottle caps:
Trying to get it back on the ground this week, then, after dialing it all in I'll move to the engine rebuild process. I'll try to get better at taking more pics of the process, it just kinda slows me down when I'm working solo.
