P5 kills

I kind of joke about my wife's '02 protege 5 being slow. It's OK. But it's not fast. I bought it the way it is. Cold air, header. It's a 2.0 dohc (non-interference ftw!) 130 hp? We went to Pigeon Forge in it. Just the two of us for a marriage seminar. It was a great getaway.

So an old (87ish) saab 900 turbo was driving pretty aggressive. He passed me up. Then a 00ish prelude came up behind the saab with a blow off valve popping. The passenger rolled down his window and listened to the p5 after looking us over. I made a "p-choo" sound with my mouth. The passenger laughed. I smiled. At the next red light the saab was in the left lane, a full size late model 2wd chevy in the middle, I was in the right lane. I assumed the Saab would jump so I was ready. The Chevy jumped! He roasted a tire for a moment. I got him in first gear by a car length. When I shifted to 2nd he pulled until I hit 2nd. Then I pulled him again. The saab was nowhere around. ? Ah well. He probably would have smoked me anyway.

The next day I was out solo. An 02ish Maxima pulled up beside me. We both jumped. I got him by a half a car in first, and a car in 2nd and 3rd. I was proud of that one. Wikipedia says... "Often associated with being the fastest years of the Maxima, the engine was a 222 hp (166 kW) (227 hp SE) 3.0 L VQ30DE V6."

So the P5 isn't a dog anyway. 8)

A great kill story i have with my festiva was i was on my way home one night from going to see a movie and i was following an 00ish Grand Am GT, we were in single lane traffic and up the road it split to 2 lane traffic then a stop light

as it split to 2 lanes, the Grand Am moved to the left lane as did i, as soon as i moved to the left lane, the grand am moved quickly back to the right lane so i would be beside him at the red light, so right there i knew he wanted to race :evil4: so when the light turned green we both floored it, my festiva just spun like crazy through 1st gear, so the grand am kept up, i shifted to second still spinning and once i finally caught traction i pulled on that grand am like he was standing still :evil4::evil4: i bet he didnt expect that one :lol:

A few months ago when I got my new brake setup on the Festiva, I actually had someone in an automatic 2000 Eclipse run against me, and I held him up to 65, when I let off. I don't know why he wanted to race... But that was a stock B3! I think that was the slowest race I've ever been in.
