I have no background knowledge of anything that goes wrong with my car, everything is new to me.
There's only one way to learn, right? In my experience, the only way to learn how to fix things is to learn how to break them. As such, I spend as much time learning how to repair and replace things as I do learning how to fix them.

None of my friends understand this. They all just say i'm wasting my money and I could have bought a nicer car. No other car was going to teach me as much as the festiva has.

Boost leak test that thing. Very valuable tool on my srt-4. If you have an exhaust leak it will have a harder time spooling. If it's a pure boost leak the turbo is spooling the same but to get its set boost level its hotter air which will make ya slow.

a nicer car as in a Honda? bah... festiva can be made into really nice cars with just a few mods. i get compiments all the time.
Im not driving a Festiva because I'm poor. I drive a Festiva because i want to!

coilovers will help you a great deal, postman has a really nice writeup somewhere..
if you wanna use ebay coilovers PM me ill send you all the pics of what i did with mine.. actually id use Ebay coilovers + stock shocks and spend the money on a wideband and a boost gauge...
actually thats what you should do, save money for a wideband and boost gauge, even for road racing/time attack/auto x the ebay coilovers work GREAT for what u pay.
GL man.

Reason: forgot something
Innovate sells a great wideband i haven't put in yet. You can actually use one of their analog outputs as your o2 sensor to the ecu so you don't need another bung or custom downpipe. You can also lean your car out slightly in closed loop with it to score some mpg's if you desire.

It's a MazdaFordnKia thing, and you will understand!

awesome!!! good to know, ive always bought aem ugeo's and i gots a prosport im going to use this summer on my boosted z5, it just looks more gangster.
The easiest/cheapest and quite possibly most ghetto fabulous way to improve on the sagging preggers cow udder deal would be to install a set of el-cheapo generic ebay coilovers and give the front some more negative camber. Getting rid of all that rear squat will really help weight transfer AND keep the front camber from going so far positive.
With 400lb rear springs on my bp+t the front still lifts and the wheels go camber positive and spin like no tomorrow. We almost need suspension limiters.

Exactly what i'm doing. My ebay coil overs should be arriving tomorrow I can't justify spending $350 on a good suspension when all i'm going to do is drag.
My camber is actually at -.06 left front and -1.6 right front.

I've seen motorcycles do this at the track. Would the ratchet straps still go on the front?
when the front of your car lifts, the suspension geometry is making the wheels go positive. the more negative you set it the more negative it will be when it lifts.
I wouldn't really try putting straps on the front unless you want the tech inspector to make you take them off.
I did the boost leak test and found a 1/8" hole the intercooler. I epoxied it and then pressure tested again and no more leaks but, it's still just as slow
