I have this vision ....of a Festiva ....with a 468 sticking out from the hood :eeeeeek:
Cut out the windshield and the firewall, stick that in there! That'll hold the wheels down. :p

              Festiva project

I picked up a 8.8 rear end for my project.
Just curious, why not just slip in a narrowed 9"

We build alot of mustangs at the shop.
We use 8.8 for all of our cars. We got a few 7 sec stangs running 8.8s.
With the aftermarket parts available this rear end is definitely strong enough.
The 8.8 is lighter & for dragracing we have no need to do a quick gear swap like the circle track cars do.

Plus we have stacks of parts for a 8.8 laying around.

Just saw this thread. My vote was for a big turbo 2.3 as I used to have one in my 92 coupe. Loved that car. Saw your going with a 351, is it going to stay 351 or get strocked to 363, 408, 427 etc? Can't wait to see this build. Wheelie bars on a festiva is going to look sick.

I wanted to do a 302 because of the size of the motor.
But the 351 will hold the power we want to make. Just sucks its wider than the 302.

The 23. turbo would have been cool, But we have so many parts for the 351 I cant beet the price for the used parts.

We will call it a 351, but we all know its much more than that
