That remind me of the guys that said its a stock 302 but the damn thing sounds like a prostock car.

Ya the 302 would have been better size wise. But the stock 351 block would hold more power.

      I split 2 302 motors right down the center @ 450 HP.
The 351 will hold up just fine for what were needing.

Well the only thing left inside the car is the door panels & dash.
That will be out this weekend & hopefully have the rear underside taken out.

Seems a little lite..there isn't a bottle in the frame rail hooked up to the high beams when the headlights are off and tricky drilling of the intake, or similar??

            LOL.
            No bottle on those combos.
Side stepping the clutch at 6500 rpm will definitely catch up to ya at some point.
The stock 302 was rated about 220 hp.
I am building another 302 for a customer now. He bought my old parts from the motor i split in half. He should be ok because its a street car not a race car. Difference is on a race car your launching hard with slicks so you dont spin alot. On his car with street tires he will spin the tires like crazy. THis will not strain the motor like i did.

By side stepping do you mean just "bumping" the clutch while you shift? I figured you might have a dogbox in that bad boy lol

                side stepping the clutch.
At the starting line i push my 2 step button with allows me to stand on the gas pedal while controlling the rpms to a pre-set limit (6800) for launch only.
I have the clutch pushed in by pushing on the edge of the pedal. When i launch i let off the 2 step witch allows the motor to rev to the main pre-set rev limit of 7500 rpms. At the same time i slide my foot to the left to let the clutch pedal pop.
As soon as i release the clutch for launch I bring my foot back to tap it again while grabbing 2nd gear.

Its faster to side step the clutch rather than lift your foot straight up.

oooo, very nice! are you going to build that frame within the festiva, or build the frame and somehow get the festiva body on it? When do you think you will have the frame ready?

                            Here is the plan.
remove the fenders, hood & doors.
First we are going to cut the front end off the car just in front of the strut towers. This front end will be installed after the chassis is installed and also be removable.
Second we will remove the entire fire wall and floor. This will allow us to locate the chassis inside the car for mock up, then we can lift the body off to build a jig for the frame and weld everything together. Now the body can be set back on the chassis and be welded together.

This should take about a month after the chassis arrives.

We are planning on using the mustang 2 front end parts for the steering & suspension.

That's quite the plan you have and it looks like it'll work extremely well, I'm really looking forward to see this build come to life

                                1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
                                1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
