Im not sure about other forms, but in land speed racing if you run nitrous it changes you from a "gas" classification to a "fuel" classification. Turbos/superchargers put you in a blown category. Since the forums don't differentiate fuel vs. gas, i think it still belongs in the N/A category. There isn't anything stopping others from running nitrous if they want to up their ET.

Cant debate that,we just dont have a large enough NOS pool to choose from. Its just so easy to install NOS for one day,run the time scan the slip. And now your a porn star. Turbo/Super Chargers take more skill and people dont use em & loose em. Just my LAST 2 cent's,I dont want to beat this Horse till its dead. I totally understand NOW why Silv3rBull3t is in the NA category. Regardless of wrong or right.

My friends have this arguement all the time lol. But the way I see it is "Boost" wether it be turbo or supercharged, is a power adder. Nitrous is a power adder. NA cars have no "power adders". Both run gas lol. So it should be NA, and Power Adder list. But I don't care one way or another. I only care about the overall fastest list.

I don't care either way, I can throw a bottle on a car faster than I can argue about it and I'm sick of all the rules and classes in racing. However, it's commonly overlooked that nitrogen expands much more rapidly than carbon dioxide and oxygen. That means more nitrogen means more cylinder pressure=more TQ. It also is an inert gas which makes it a natural octane booster, which coupled with the extra cylinder pressure, is like having a race motor in a bottle. People give all the credit to the oxygen, but it's a great chemical partnership for HP.
If you want to put rules on a way things are judged, just start your own thread for fastest "all motor" festiva. If enough people agree with you, and they probably will, you will have a nice little list that may get included into the permanent lists. If not, at least you gave it an honest shot.
I love all the passion/ time and effort that people devote to making these cars fast, so cheers to you all!ccasion5:

I think this thread could go forever back and forth as to how to class a nitrous car, everyone has their own opinions about it that's for sure

I think once there becomes more members who run nitrous, then some changes would make sense, but for now with only one guy on the list who ran nitrous, it's not worth changing it all just for that

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I argued this awhile back aswell. It is either all motor or it isn't.
