A lot of actual race car drivers will use those mirrors, and then remove their side mirrors. It creates less drag to not have mirrors. My mom had one in one of her Porsches way back in the day.Originally posted by Prafeston View Post

The mirrors may also serve as a sort of visor, I know a lot of rally drivers visor their windshields with vinyls that cover near 50% so the sun will stay out of their eyes.

I have one of those mirrors in my new Sprint.. I'll have to take it out, though, as I'm too tall to see with it in there.
