Re-entrying again for this year!

A lot of things happened this year 2012 for my one and only Pride/Festiva and one of the Philippine's pride(for me) Pride w/ pride, presenting again, Ernstkia.

I just joined the FF community I think just this 2012 or last few months of 2011. I can really say my car is an all around performer, from aesthetics to performance. Not a perfect car but tried everything from races,carshows, and trips and I'm proud of how I built it. It's my model also to my pride/festiva body kits w/c is the Ernst Pride Kits.Anyway, here is my ride's updated infos and 2012 event pictures:

Hey everyone
Just thought i'd share some pics with you guys and some info about my 1989 121 turned Festiva.
In 2010 i got this car as a late christmas present, the car cost $250 when we bought it and had around 290,000kms on the clock, the car had a 1.3L Engine which blew smoke and was having a few other problems also.
In Early 2011 We bought a 1999 Damaged for Festiva for about $300, first off i started using it as a motorkhana car but then later we decided to put it's 1.5L Fuel Injected engine into the 121/Festiva and also Strip out the cars interior so it weighed less and therefore we would be able to get better times in Motorkhanas.
After we put the Engine in the Car we stripped out the Interior and take out everything that we wouldn't have needed, this included all the carpet, the insides of the dash which we had to keep in the car due to rules in Motorkhanas and we also took out other various things including the backseat which we were quiet suprised how much it weighed and we replaced it with the Backseat out of the 99 Festiva because the rules also required a backseat.
In early 2012 we repainted the car, and by this time we also had a black 5 door 1991 Model Festiva and we took some of the bumpers and other bits including the grill and ford badges off the 99 Festiva and put them on the 121 so it looked more like well a FESTIVA!
We soon after Painted the Grill, Front Bumper and Back Bumper and Wheels Flat/Matte Black and the Rest Bright red, the car also has rally tires on the front and is a 5 speed manual, The motor would now have approximately 150,000kms on it.
We have recently also put a racing seat in the car to stop you sliding around while doing Motorkhana's and it works quiet well also
We usually keep my car garaged and when not it's parked somewhere in the shade.

I figured since I am finally starting to make progress on my Festy I might try and go for a FOTM.

I have had my Festy for more than 8 years and it served me many trips from Michigan to Chicago where I was going to school. On the way home from Chicago one time I ended up going through over 50 dollars in oil, ( thanks to what I suspect was a bad front main seal) I parked the Festiva and it sat neglected for more than 4 years. I then heard of FF.com and promptly joined and that got me itching to fix my Festiva. Not too long after joining I found an old forum post about Matt Dickmeyer and got in touch with him. I talked to him for over an hr that first call and decided that he was the man to resurrect my little car. The following pictures are of my progress so far and if anyone wants to keep up on the progress they can search for Project Phoenix and subscribe.

That was the back-story. Now onto the planned mods and mods done so far with included pictures.

Mods done to date:

• Matt Dickmeyer's stage 3, custom cylinder head port job.
• Matt Dickmeyer's over-sized intake and exhaust valves along with custom stiffer valve springs.
• Matt Dickmeyer's stage 3 camshaft ( currently waiting for return.)
• Stock fuel injectors ( for now) that have been cleaned flow tested and flow matched by Matt Dickmeyer.
• Stock intake port matched and powder-coated as well as the valve cover powder-coated.
• Block bored .030 over.

Planned mods:

• Matt Dickmeyer's long tube header for the B3/B6.
• Spec Stage 2 clutch kit.
• Aspire swap
• Megasquirt
• Civic ss mod.
• Civic 2 core radiator.

So I figured I would give this a try since I am still pretty new here.

I was given my Festiva by my cousin when I turned 19. It looked like the "before" picture below and had around 170,000 miles. As I drove the car, I began to love it more and more. Every time I went to the gas station was another reminder of just how much I was saving in fuel money. I finally decided she was ready for a makeover, so I went and bought some paint and went to town (after). Now, over 3 years later, I drive my Festiva over 100 miles a day to and from work and she about 500 miles shy of hitting 250,000. The motor is original, and the trans is original. I have replaced the clutch, spark plugs, fuel pump, and the distributor for major parts. For as many miles as she has, I am very please at how little I have to work on this car! My gas mileage averages 40-43 mpg in the winter, and 43-47 in the summer (highest recorded was 49.5 mpg on a road trip 2 hours north). I have had people laugh at me, I have had people take pictures of my car (especially if I am towing something). But either way, I am getting more gas mileage then they are! Love my festy and hope to get another 250k outta her! or even 750k!

I'm voting for Gregorian simply because he's doing the Meyer engine build as a platform. Which is a big plus in my books. I think that is the only next viable modification Ernst should do to go all out on his build.
