But Veilside makes body kits for the metro/swift. They're not a small time tuning company.

Festiva's are just so great in the fact of the amount of room that little car has. One of my friends said it had more room in the back then his moms Mini Cooper.
In my opinion my festiva is the Mini Cooper i always wanted... and i'm not talking about the new ones. I have always wanted an Original Cooper S, or Works.

I've owned a 1990 Swift GT and a 1988 Chevy Sprint Turbo - and let me tell you, no non-swapped Festiva holds a candle to these cars (performance wise). The top engine swap for the Swifts is to put the DOHC 1.3 head on a samurai/sidekick 1.6 block. There's the convertibles, and the Metro XFI getting 53/58 mpg. So I'm going to give the edge to Suzuki on this battle. That said - Festivas are very cool cars and the bodykits on Festiva Motorsports are awesome. I will be doing the 1.8 big block swap into a Festiva sooner or later...

Plenty of Swift owners pull over 50mpg (even with the turbo, but not the GT), so call it a toss up. I have no idea what the top speed of a 1.0 or SOHC 1.3 Swift is - I can tell you that I definitely never went that fast.

A Swift looks just like a Metro IIRC. It's the car the Metro was based on. Some Justys were AWD. I believe those came with a four cylinder engine. The others were FWD and had a three cylinder engine.

I had a 93 metro 2 dr 5spd before i bought my 88 festi and even though the metro got better mileage it feels a lot cheaper than the festi does. Rust was also a huge factor in the metro and cause its demise. The lower control arm separated from the unibody as i was driving it to a buddys house luckily it was at low speed and i managed to limp it to his driveway. My festi may be runnin funny right now but i still like it a lot more than my old metro.

I love my Festys, but to be honest, I love the Zukis too.. a Metro IS a Swift, like a Festy IS a Pride/121.
I would love to have a kick butt Swift GTi
I would also love to have a swapped late model Swift/Metro
I owned a 1996 Metro 4 banger, and I wish I had never sold it.. pretty little car, nearly as much room as my beloved Festys..
Still, in my book, Sit a Stock Festy, next to a Stock 3 cyl Metro and I will take the Festy every time... it's just that way... LOL. My 96 Metro handled quite a bit better than any of my stock Festys ever did.. The 95 (I think) and up Swift/Metros had a much sleeker look than the Metros before that.Have had 6 Festys... and counting...
