It is the tighest, best running stock Festy I have ever owned!! The 53,000 miles are correct, and it shows. 17 years of paint fade, and a few door dings is all I can see. Not a spot of rust. It is a Colorado car, that moved to Florida for a short time, then Tennessee.. The seats under the covers are like new, but the back seat is a bit stained. Door panels and dash are decent.. not perfect but good.
Clear coat and hockey stick stripe are killed.... I will probably sand it and paint it soon. White maybe??
Engine compartment is pretty darned clean, some valve cover leakage, nothing big. Started right up, runs so quiet you can barely tell it's running. Fuel injection!! Yeah! I forgot the autos in 89 had injection.. jazzed about that. It drives so tight that it feels like new to me.. definitely the tightest Festy I have ever driven.
I had to pay $800 for it... boo hoo... biggest bargain of my life, 53K on a Festiva... NOTHING!!
I need some window cranks, and to free the windows up a bit. No package tray, and no radio (stolen) I am missing one piece of trim from the passenger door, the one with the rubber strip for the window. Will post these things as [WTB] tomorrow! Plus a trip to the JY to pick apart the 91 they have there, and to scout a 5 speed for my autocross car. YEAH!!! I am really jazzed, can't wait to paint it and spruce it up!!! I actually like the automatic, great for a daily driver, and it's not sluggish at all, runs and drive fricken awesome.. (can you tell I am pumped?)
Better pictures tomorrow, after I get it off the trailer.
I feel like I STOLE this car!!
It's name is "Red Rox" or "Rox" for short as it came from the Red Rocks area in Colorado, and the Hippies that owned it went there... They loved this car and were SO happy that someone that appreciates Festys bought it.
I bought it in West Point KY, south of Louisville, it was in CraigsList, I can't IMAGINE why it hadn't sold.. except it wasn't listed as a Festiva, it was listed as "Trade or Sell" only.. I found it with a search for the context of the body of the ad, not the title. The guy said he was really surprised that it went for $800... I guess I could have paid less than that... but hey, there was someone else local coming to look at it tonight, and I beat feet down there with my trailer, I feel lucky to have paid just $800 for it. Not too many Festys left with this low mileage!!!
The alloy wheels and Sumitomos from my Blue car are going on this one, and these wheels and tires will go on my Blue car, as I just need a set to keep it movable, when the race wheels and tires aren't on it... it's perfect!!
Plus the KYB GR2's and FMS sport springs will come off the Blue car, when it gets coilovers and heavy springs this winter, so I will have those to go on this cars... bonus!!

My brother, well not festiva radios but he went around stealing stock radios off cars then pawned them at different pawn shops saying he just put in a different radio. He didn't realize serial numbers will match up.
