WOO HOO!! Free (almost) Bimmer for ME!!!

This guy was advertising his1982, European grey market 318i on Craigslist..

he was desparate to get it out of his parents garage, he only had a day or two..

Long story short, he wanted a car enthusiast to have it, and I managed to convince him that I was indeed a car nut, and that the little lady would be well loved at my house..

HE GAVE IT TO ME!! His dad moved, and had it towed today, so I will owe the tow fee, and storage, a total of $165. I have to go to Columbus tomorrow to pick it up on my trailer.. CAN'T WAIT!!!

It needs a few things, but it's a Euro Spec 318i RARE!! in the States anyway..

Hey that is a neat find - You did GREAT. Have fun with that project. It is cool because the Gray market cars are typically not "pimped-out". Should be a basic car like the Festiva. Not a lot of options to be bothersome as the car get older. You are indeed a lucky man.

It's light too! Plus it has the more powerful euro spec engine, and no US bumpers.. just the light ones.. Doesn't even have a radio, never did.. I can't wait!!

Yep, it's already titled... New Jersey, signed and notarized ready to transfer. No inspections here in Cincy... no big deal at all. $10 for transfer and it's all done.

$200 Bimmer... yeah.

Got it home. Very solid.. a little rust and a few dings here and there... waiting till tomorrow to start it up, I had to remove the ignition switch as the fellow had lost the key.... so tomorrow will tell more..
