      • Hmmm... No clue. Looks like an Austin Healey mated with a Kaiser Darrin.

        • you're actually not far off. Kaiser was approached to build it, but was busy with the Darrin at the time. The styling was influenced by Austin and MG. The body was manufacted by Glaspar in California under commission, but commissioned by who?

          • I think the Glaspar, as a complete car was limited. Don't recall which but I'm thinking it ran a Ford family engine. A number of body kits were sold to the best of my memory. I think this preceded the Corvette by a couple years. Have no idea who the potential name brand mfg. might have been.

            • preceded the 'Vette by one year. Ran either a Willys or Caddilac engine (usually flattie Ford, if built from a kit), designed to use Willys and Jeepster parts. Glasspar didn't build the car, only the body. They also built the Kaiser Darrin body and some of the prototype 'Vettes. Their expertise in composites came from boat building during WWII. The car above is a 1952 Woodill Wildfire, developed by LA Dodge dealer Woddy Woodill, who also taught aeronautical engineering at USC during the war. Wildfires were used some movies of the era; "Knock on Wood" with Danny Kaye, "Written on the Wind" with Rock Hudson (noticing a trend?), and "Johnny Dark" with Tony Curtis.

                • Wasn't this once safe car of the 70s also a fiberglass car?

                    • Saw that slick - for the time -Twin H powered concept at a St. Louis show in the mid to late 50s. I don't want to give it so soon though.

Why am I here? I have plenty of real stuff to do. LOL!

You can read it on the bonnet and wing (hood and fender?).

Yep, that's it. Slick as they were, they always appeared to be clumsy looking with that long nose out over the front wheels. Touted as Safety Car, I guess they had a large crush zone. Not sure that the designed crash-ability of todays cars was in the picture yet. Some Ford, some AMC engines, I think.
