on a average day i see maby 1 or 2 festivas in the last 2 days i have seen at least 14 to 15 festivas. i dont know why i cant find any for sale. there are tons of them now, i think people are using them for winter cars :lol:

With chains (cable type) I plow thru the snow...ice...anything....flips people out....cann't tell how many times i went ot work in the morning or returned home and all cars stuck including SUV's, stuck...love to tute tute the horn as I pass!

In MD they close the state for flurries...be careful for what you claim...don't expose your inexperience...anyone with true winter driving experience will tell you it not the going thats hard...its the stopping...that's where chains work...especially in ice.....in MD three snow flakes constitutes early dismisal!

I've worked / travelled thru 30 US states, including Alaska, and Maine and upstate NY in winter, as well 7 other European countries.

Whatever....only chains stop in the ice....here we don,t close the roads based on a forecast!

I'd pink slip my skate with chains against any 2WD..If you never driven with cahins you cann't comment.

Ever wonder why emergency vehicles or public transportation uses chains....maybe you should change professions and drive a fire truck.

Incidentally, I drove heavy equipment in the Air Force... I teach diesel technology and have my CDL.

Ever drive with studded tires? Much better performance than chains, but chains are a good substitute.

Back when I first got mine after I moved It got taken down a dirt (mud) road . . . a dirt road in TN is clay packed as where in IL its gummy mud . . . I found this out later down the road. The tow driver said it was 3000 ft past where the 4x4s all turn around. Browns got two trucks stuck trying to get it out.

I drove in the blizzard of the century in 93. On stock 12" tires. Went from Athens Ga to Roanoke VA. I went across 221 in Floyd VA. It's a little mountain. Some of the stuff was bumper deep. Festys think they are 4 wheel drive. I've never had to run chains. One of my best festy wheelin' stories is the time I passed an f-150 stuck in the mud. The guys were all "NO! NO! don't come this way." I was delivering food in Henderson TN. The road was under construction. I just smiled as I passed on the way in and then waved on the way out. The stranded rednecks were awed by the fury of the festiva!

Winter is closing quite quickly here and snow is just barely starting to fall. I haven't driven my Festy in the snow yet, and haven't bought snow tires. To get new steelies with winter tires(or even just winter tires on the current steelies) costs too much. Luckily my tires are quite new so there's still lots of tread left. I'm interested to see how it performs.
