  • How long do the B3's last?

Just curious what the average mileage you might be able to put on a B3 before it needs a full overhaul/rebuild.

Not a babied, meticulously cared for example but your normal, regularly maintained one. One thats gone a little far between changes and has a few small leaks.

    So far .. forever

Mine has close to 170.000 , I drive it very hard , everyday , it still refuses to use oil .

The you have Jeff (5.0 zone ) original owner , who went past 500,000 last Sept .

Most have in excess of 200,000 and some with 300,000 and are still everyday drivers .

300k and beyond is not unusual with proper maintenance.

I remember my old HS lady teacher's father have put about 600,000 miles on it before his father give her and lady have put about 200,000 miles so it total about 800,000 miles on it with orginal b3 engine and transaxle! Right now I don't know if lady still uses the Festiva today... Her father have used festiva a lot travel often to Mexico in past of time.

My best guess B3 engine can last around 500,000 miles if good tune up with your festiva.

I had one ring brake at 142K...did a full overhaul...the balance of the engine was pristine....excluding routine maintenance....I fret nothing.

Wow, thats pretty impresive guess I'll either have to find another Festiva to do a swap in or we'll be waiting for a while. We've only got about 230,000kms on it. (approx 143,000miles.)

The first one I use to own is still going on the original engine and tranny. I believe the current owners have 325,000 miles on it.

300,000 seems to be the average.

Mine '92 ran perfectly aside from some lifter noise at 174k when I sold it. My '89 with 137k runs about the same. Neither one use/used any oil. Barely broken in, near as I can tell.

Had just under 500k on mine when I spun a bearing, and swapped for one with 190k on it, and it runs like new!
