Alright I gutted the interior today. Man talk about nasty. Did find one small rust hole in the spare tire area. About the size of a quarter. No big deal and easy to fix. Looks like someone affiliated with the military owned it and it spent some time in N.C.
Please see this thread for items Im looking for.

Ouch bummer! This was a totally unexpected deal. I never thought these guys at the scrapyard would find a Festiva. I was figuring Id get another Escort or an Aspire. And I certianly never expected it to be in the shape its in bodywise. Of course the nasty interior is making up for the nice body!

Well started fitting the Taurus seats in her today. Gonna have to cut out the mounts for the original seats in 2 places then cut down the 3rd one and have brackets made for 3 locations on each Taurus seat. But I think theyll look real good and with my plans for the door panels they will hopefully look like they were meant to be there. Also gonna try something. Ive decided I want to put power windows in her using one of those universal kits. But rather than use the buttons that come with the kit, I found that the rear button panel from the Taurus will work. It has an ashtray in it BUT I can take that out do a little dremel work to it and the door handle will sit right in there no problem. I havent even tried starting it. The more I read the horror stories here with carbed cars and looking at the engine. I think its gonna ba a candidate for a transplant.
