      Agree on the cats. Ever since we got a couple of cats we haven't had any mice problem. Our cats are outside cats and keep the mice at bay very well.

        ive put something in there to catch any mice that might get in. i dont think chemicals are the answer though, as that smell is awful. putting a cat or snake in the car? suppose to be a joke i guess.

        they have had a nice assortment of dog food in the past so no wires etc damaged. i just cant figure where they are getting in.

                  I had some mice nest in the spare tire area of my civic one time. I just finished rebuilding the engine and turbo kit over the winter and when I opened the rear hatch I saw a nest with a bunch of the little F'ers where the spare tire would go.

                  As said before, mice can get into almost anything. They only way to stop them is make the car unreachable. I have been throwing stored cars on jackstands as high as they will go...no more mouse problems.
