rupp - Did you pull an engine while you were there? From a Festiva? And if so, was it blue and looks like it flipped on the roof?!

I saw one up there with the engine pulled, a 5-speed tranny was left sitting. Where was that tranny 5 months ago when we had to pull one to fix the one my BP Festiva broke in 1/2? Instead, 3 of us were standing on the hood of the car, it almost flipped off the tire stands it was sitting on. It was nuts!

I went up about 2 weeks ago during $35 TRANNY week... Unfortunately, I didn't have the manpower to pull that tranny out and take it back with me or I would've grabbed it to keep as a spare.

Simon, i pulled a bp out of a protege (it was just hanging there because someone grabbed the trans) and i also pulled a 80k 1996 aspire 1.3 which was also hanging there by the wires. the hardest part of the whole thing was pulling them out of the yard on one of those carts.

i also grabbed the oem mudflaps, chrome wheel rings, door pockets, radio, lx interior (seats) , headlights, and grill off of the silver and red festys. oh and the tail lights off the rolled over festy (they were almost new!) probly a few other nic nacs. it was a pretty fun day, got almost everything i needed for my b6t car. do you know who was taking the clusters? i noticed all the clusters were gone.

When did you go? I pulled a white cluster out of a 90 LX that was there (I think it was silver)... I left the map pockets, passenger mirror, etc there beecause I didn't feel like pulling, cleaning, etc only to make a few $$...

I must've missed the OEM mudflaps! I would've grabbed them in a second. The wheel rings, I saw 1 of them was nicked up pretty bad (front, drivers side), so I pased on them too...

I was there on the 15th. If you plan on going back anytime soon again, I'd meet you there. I don't need much of anything, but it's always fun to go check out stuff. I know of another yard that had 3-4 sitting in there, including a nice OEM yellow one.

the pass side mirror was gone when i went (last sunday). i know what you are saying about the parts not being perfect, but when you have a big order like i did they throw in little items like that so i figured what the heck, i`ll try to dress up my festy a bit. total for both motors, interior, mudflaps, trim rings, radio, headlights, taillights, and grill was $200 even. i put on most of the stuff already, the trim rings polished up nicely with sos, the door pockets painted up nicely with plastic paint, and the seats washed off nicely so i was thrilled with the purchase.

it'd be awesome to have a harry's meet sometime. a friend of mine mentioned some yard by him with 4 festivas but i haven`t had a chance to check it out. he's by the NY/PA border.

Hmmmm... I'm not sure about that one. There's one about 35 miles south of Harry's that I usually hit when I make my rounds. There was 3 or 4 cars there, but lots of stuff was gone already. They had a complete 323 GTX there a few years ago, but I didn't know any better about the cars to know that the stuff inside was important! haha....

I thought about grabbing the mirror. But the owner of the car didn't have the correct cover on the inside and drilled a hole in the top of the cover to make it fit right. It wasn't power anyways... I would've grabbed a power set...

And yea - we'll have to schedule a meet there sometime. We'll all be fighting about what parts we each get. haha...
