  • festiva summer plans?

anybody else got any? i'm planning on doing some bodywork (get rid of those nasty dents) and getting some painting done for it. then maybe some rims, depending on the money situation, and probably some other little upgrades. i know most of you probably have the same amount of time in the spring as you do in the summer, but since i'm in school still, i gotta kinda plan my work accordingly. so what are y'all's (is that a word?) plans?
ps. thanks for moving this admin!

Probably going to get some KYB GR2 struts, FMS lowering springs, performance headers, HID headlight kit, slotted rotors, strut bar..and probably some 13" wire wheels. So I'm probably looking at around $1000-$1200 in stuff.

I am hoping to get my dad's 1990 festiva L-plus this summer. It has over 200k on it. It needs new brakes and suspension. For suspension it will get KYB GR2 struts and FMS lowering springs, for brakes it will get an Aspire brake swap, the engine will get swapped for the B6T I have in my basement, and then the transmission will get swapped for a cable-operated G-series which I will be getting in trade for my 4wd GTX tranny. I will be putting power mirrors on it and hopefully some tint. It will also be getting seats that I have from an 88 LX. I think that is about it for summer plans for the festiva.

The 240sx gets a new head and radiator. It might get a new owner, I don't know yet.

The mx-3 gets new plug wires, O2 sensors, and test pipe. It might get a new owner too.

The taurus just got new O2 sensors and catalytic convertors/Y-pipe.

Get the interior finished, get the engine swapped, new brakes and struts, wet sand the body and freshen the paint up and finally get the new rims and tires mounted. Yep that should fill the summer up pretty good.

1 month from today i have my first final.. then the fun begins

I don't have any big projects in plan for this summer pertaining directly to my car, but here are a few:
-finish my custom exhaust and CAI
                    -swap in the aspire swaybar
-honda vx wheels if i can find some for cheap enough
-racing seats, once again if i can find a set for cheap enough
-re-build a spare 5speed or two, maybe sell one of them to pay off the rebuild costs?
                    -plexi rear 1/4 windows.

also am planing on fabbing some fiberglass fenders soon as school is out... i've already got a bunch of glass, just need to decide exactly how i'm going to do it, and to pick up some epoxy (that stuff is $$) and then start trying to get the molds made.

thats about it for my car i think, maybe a few other things (fresh coat of paint etc). I've already got one job ligned up for a guy at work, he needs a 3.3 v6 rebuilt (has a rod knock and blown HG). that should give me a little extra $$ for the flying lessons i'm planing on finally completing. I'll also be taking one or two summer classes through my school and working a full 40hrs a week. Its going to be a busy summer!

Paint and body work. Four different colors with lots of dents makes a good sleeper but it annoys me. Also rebuild and install my probe turbo.

I have so much I want to do this summer, question is, how will the cash for it, and time for it gonna work out? Time will tell......
                              Aspire swap.
I want to cover the interior with the loop part of Velcro, with custom patterns yet!
                              Put in escort LX seats.
Mod escort power mirrors to fit.
Add custom lights to rear cargo area.
Back seat has been out for years, gone. I want a wood panel rear cargo area.
                              A drivers side door lock.
Body work with a custom Miami dolphins paint job.
New window regulator on drivers door.
I am guessing I will get the LX seats in, mine are too broken down to last much longer, after that, I guess we will see....
