  • Clutch Cables.

So i jsut want to know if im the only one. but ive already snapped 3 clutch cables in my festiva. Any one else have a snapping problem?

No problems here. Are you running a stiffer than stock clutch? Make sure your cable isnt rubbing up against anything.

Is there a rough spot where it attaches? Maybe rubbing the cable?

Where did you buy the cable from? I bought one from Autozone and it was rough and snapped. This was on the BPT with an ACT street clutch on the 323 trans. Then I bought a new one from Advance Auto and it was way smoother and no problems. But I still carry a spare with me.

The clutch pedal pivots on a rod under the dash. If I remember correctly, there are spacers of different length on both sides of the pedal that spaces the pedal direcly over the cable. If the spacers are installed wrong , worn, or missing; maybe. the pedal arm is side loading the exposed part of the cable causing it to wear.
