  • Aspire steering knuckle to Festiva

Does anybody have one of each (steering knuckle) that they can compare as to how heavy they are made. I'm having trouble with the heavy piece that the strut attaches to breaking where it attaches to form the bearing housing. I would like to know if the Aspire knuckle is made any heavier than the Festiva.

yes, the Aspire piece is thicker at that junction, with a smoother blend/transition.

Thanks. That's good to know. The Festiva definately has a weak spot as you can see in the picture link where 2 knuckles broke in the exact same place.

It's those darn Pennsylvania Turnpike potholes.
Actually it's from circle track racing and the knuckle on the right side that takes all the car weight and abuse going through a left turn.

ah ha!!! you need the XR2 brake swap, it will solve all your problems... 'cept you have to run 14" or larger rims.

                Okay, question:

What kind of metal are the knuckles made out of?

                Sintered metal?
                Cast iron?
                Forged steel?

                Anyone know?
