Anymore news on the tire front? I'm going to need new tires sometime in the next 6 months and trying to decide what direction to head (12" or convert to 13"). Sounds like the 13s may be an obsolete find soon as well.

I saw three sets of 13s in a farm supply store yesterday. Didnt even know they carried tires. But the sale sign said closeout cash and carry $29 each. Might go snag a couple of them. (sets)

Snagged at $29 each. 50,000 mile tires. Let the good times roll . Brings my new tire count to 32. Enough for eight cars.

Go get wheels off a later generation metro. Theyre 13's and usually 155/80/13 as well, which means youre speedo will read 7.7% too slow. When it says 60 youre actually doing 64-65, so keep it down to 50-52 on a 55mph road.

You just need to find some 13" rims that have the same bolt pattern as the festiva. Some 13s have the same diameter as 12s so the above MPH adjustment is not always needed.

13"s with the same bolt pattern as the festiva. Do a search and youll likey find a list of donor cars.

Q: I have a set of later metro 13's..but doesn't the lug nut to lug bolt thing mess up a straight swap over?
                    Because....45 MPG.

i just put a set of metro 13's on my 1989 with 155-80-13's. they fit perfect with the stock festy lug bolts.Speedo shows 60 mph when i am really doing 62 mph. Checked it with a gps.
the rims also fit a suzuki swift and other vehicles.

The swap should be okay as long as the rims had the same 60 degree cone seat for both the lug nuts and lug bolts.

                          I found tires on www.discounttire.com

                          Kumho

                          $50.00eac $200.00

I got a new set of 4 from local dealer for $53 each mounted...drive fine !!

I think they are Korean tires. I also see lots of the used Japanese little trucks coming in here...mini-trucks, and they are on 12 inch tires. With them and the Chinese ones too coming in new.......these 12 inch size tires are not going to be forgot about ...not here anyway. I had no trouble getting them, and here in Wyo. and Mont. , can get them. 155 by 12 Radials, nice tires for our '90 L Plus.

Be careful though with that 12" tire. The overall height of the tire is taller than the original equipment and going to throw your speedometer off by almost 2 mph. Don't want no tickets....
