Why can't they just name it something new....the car shares no similarities with the fiesta or festiva other than being "small" by the days standards. Lets call it a "Cheap 131' since it is made by ford and thats what they are good at cheap cars :-)

This car (see below) is called the Ka. The only cheaper name I could think of would be the Ka Ka.( we all know what that means.)

i also am a bit of a pure'ist, but without these new car's it would always be the same kind build,.I eye these small new entries into the market as .....new parts cars!.......but never a " festy".......

There will never be a replacement for the Festiva. Look at what Ford did to the Mustang after 1971. '71 was the last year of a real Mustang until someone woke up and redesigned the car in 1993 to bring back the old design features. These new little cars are nice but they will never replace the simplicity and durability of the Festy. Who could work on one of these new things in their garage? Speaking of which...anybody got a Festy for sale?

Good point, even a shade tree like me can work on a festiva, a major advantage, cost wise.

I had understood that the line of festivas comes as follows: Festiva (three doors or four doors as mine) festiva avila (is the same festive four-door with the difference that has "tail") here is a picture of one .... then comes the "fiesta" and the newest model as the festa "power" ... well names should not be the same in U.S. or canada ...

All of those newer model "Festiva's" have clear corner lights....
...so why is it so Flippin' hard to find them/ get them reasonably priced?
                          I would love a set.
