Don't do it Gforce, don't do it!!! You worked too long and hard on that car. Park it for the winter, get away from it until your inspirations come back. It will and then you'll regret selling it.

I know what you mean, I almost sold my car when I was doing my BP swap because of all the bad luck I got. But after thinking about it, after all the money, blood, sweat and tears that had gone into this project, not to mention how much I would have lost by selling it as is, non-running, I wasn't ready to give my almost-finished project on a silver platter for a song to somebody else that may have got it running for a few additional bucks in maybe a couple of days. So instead, I kicked myself in the @ss, gave it more effort and patience, and I made it. Best decision I ever made.
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

Yeah well freshtiva is more of a addict than anything, but I would love to check out his collection one day. Maybe I will just have to do something even crazier with my festiva to keep my motivation going.

I agree Id love to see them all in person and just admire the collection of parts he has as well.
And I have to ask. Do you think its more frustration with the task at hand regarding your Festiva? That would be totally understandable given what youre trying to do. If so maybe you just need to step back from it for a little bit and then you may be able to re-approach the task at hand with a fresh perspective. Just a thought.

I have less than 10 now so Ive cut back some at least..... till I find an another one. I did just get this shiney rebuilt head today and have an other one coming. Professionally built to OEM standards. Going to a festiva meet in St Louis tomorrow for a good time. How could a guy get burnt out ??? The fun never ends !! I plan on driving a festiva the rest of my life. I say if you are tired of it put it aside for awhile until the mood hits you again, dont force it. Maybe you have depression ?? Are you just bummed on festies or everything in general ??

Not me bud. I have many of projects as well. My s-10, 99 dsm eclipse, 01 hyundai accent, and 2 festivas. I think bouncing around my projects keeps me modding. Honestly i don't care when i get them done. It gives me something to do, and I'll always be busy.

The megasquirt is actually fun, I love challenges like that, but the car is just not odd enough for me if that sounds insane. I really want to build a LOCOST (similar to caterham or Locust 7). I want a car that I can cut into without worring about hurting something in the unibody that is not easily fixed. I mean I love my orange festiva because it gets the funniest looks.....who knows. If money wasn't an option I would probably have a 100 unfinished car projects instead of 3-4....I guess I will always be searching for the perfect car for me. It is hard to balance something like functionality, performance, and fuel economy.

I really love the austin mini's with engine in the rear, Locost cars because they are super light and rwd and handle great. MR2's for their look and handling, Jeep Wranglers for the all weather and condition possibilities.

If I could make my orange car easier to get into (door poppers suck and are unreliable). Double the horsepower but keeping it as dependable as a stock BP or all motor car....Turbocharging is cool, but it adds so many more factors that could go. I may get tired and build a all motor high compression BP with nitrous for the drag strip down the road.....I just can't pick a direction and go with it in any project car. I am just a very indecisive person when it comes to what I want.

I am cooking something up with the festiva that may just change my mind on it, I need to make it more comfortable, but keep the handling, so after I finish the megasquirt that is my next goal.

Soo.... Sell off the doors and hatch then...

Or, get a different kind of door popper. The old school shaved doors used a button hidden under the body (somewhere along your sideskirt would be the same). I believe it works sort of like a bicycle gear switcher, or the heater control arms. Push the button and it somehow pulls the lock. That'd be much easier than depending on an electric powered solenoid.

I knew a guy that had an Anglia with shaved doors. He had a switch along the windshield pillar(?) that he ran a magnet on his key chain over and popped the door open.
When I first seen it I couldnt understand what he was doing. Didnt know about the magnet. Once he showed me and explained it. It was like "Whoa!"

                            Think of life this way...........
You can only have one priority ant any one time. It is impossible to have two....if you did...the word priority would not exist!!!!

Pick one....take care of it...anxd the next will fall in line.

Or think of it this way....I can only work on one thing at one time.

Find one thing to do and just do it....that's the only way any thing will get done.

A couple years ago i was starting to slowly lose interest in my festiva, then i did a BP swap and learned a new addiction to festivas

                              1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
                              1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

non running cars tend to kill motivation really fast. By stumbling upon the daily driver aspire i have, its kinda rekindled my quest to stick the 1.8 in something whether it be an aspire or another festiva.

Have you considered looking for a kit car that someone else lost interest in? out where i live there are always one or two posted with all kinds of potential. When I get curious and see what all the components were new from the manufacturer the savings are amazing. Could have 3 of them for the same $$.
