Will NEVER take the car 'around the block' again- until legal.

            Wow...

Seems like us Festiva owners have a knack for getting out of jams.

I once found a Festiva marked "FREE, TAKE ME" in front of someone's house (I am not making this up), so I towed it home and got it going with a new fuel pump.

Since I lived in a fairly crummy area which used to be a railroad switching yard, there's a maze of empty streets that are pretty much ignored.

So I took it for a spin, and as I rounded a corner, who do I meet but a cop. She just laughed at me as I rolled by, and said she didn't care because she was busy with a drug bust or something. After that I drove it home and parted it out.

Bear in mind this car had no interior, no glass, no doors, no lights, no plates, looks like it was beat to hell, and I am sitting on a lawn chair driving it around. I think I got off pretty lucky.

I'm still kicking myself for not taking any pictures of the car. There's an off chance that the guy I gave it to still has it... he has 4 Festivas and a few parts cars in his yard, and they haven't moved much lately.
