festivaWES, I can't find a $34 tow bar at harbor freight.
    You have part number?
Did find this but seems like overkill:

OK Dans obviously not here. But heres his 2 threads. 1st one is how he fabbed his towbar and the 2nd one is his Wisconsin trip with Levistiva towing another Festiva back to Iowa.

**MOST auto-trans cars cannot be towed, but the Saturn S-Series cars are one of the favorite cars of RV people, since they can be towed flat with the auto transmission with no damage, since as long as the driveshafts are turning, the pump is lubricating the trans. These Saturn cars are one of the few exceptions to the "don't-flat-tow-an-automatic" rule. Saturn VUE's are the same I think, and I do believe that some older Honda cars are the same way.

I have been wondering if I could flat tow my Festiva behind my RV..I currently flat tow a VW beetle.... but the Festiva is probably lighter..would be an awesome two behind vehicle..although after reading this thread I never really was able to verify if I can..or cant..flat tow my 1988 Manual(4 speed) Festiva with a towbar?
              It's faster than my Volkswagen

you certainly can. No problems at all.

Only the auto cars cannot be flat towed.

Yes, all I do is roll down the windows and chose my A/C speed by adjusting how fast i drive.

Looks like you kept the bumper skin...did you drill through it? or pull it..add the mounts and put it back on?

i flat towed from southern WV to lancaster with a tahoe (mom's), but didn't touch the bumper. instead, i used the tiedown loops UNDER the bumper and a drop tongue to get the angle correct. used grade 8 bolts and the harbor freight tow hitch with the ends removed to allow the bolts to slide through the hitch loop and tiedown loop. this allowed for up/down movement, but kept the chassis straight to the hitch. should have taken pics of it...
