if i get the 1.8 sohc or the 1.6 do i have to get different axles and a tranny... i would be doing a little racing aka stop light racing lol and i would like to have a tranny and parts that are strong enough for it

use the stock festiva tranny and axles with a b8 and you can even keep the stock mounts. i would order a new exedy clutch off ebay for $80 shipped. that setup will hold up fine for quite a while i think. if you upgrade the tranny/axles too, you are looking at alot of extra work & money that is probably not needed. you would need to fabricate all new mounts and also find a rare axle midshaft only found in capri xr2's and 323 gt's. you could always just wait until/if the stock unit fails and then upgrade.
