i might possibly get the money for this... doesnt look too bad(needs a car wash tho) but i wonder why it wont start... thats got me puzzled

that looks like quick little car.. i don't know if these are interference engines or not.. if not, then they may have messed up the timing.. especially if the belt broke.
also, do these have a crankshaft position sensor? If so, then it may be bad.

i would think if the belt broke and its an interference engine it would not have compression at all. bent valve, busted piston, etc.89 L, hopefully returning from the dead soon with a little more power... :twisted:

i just looked it up and it is NOT an interference engine...
i'd say its either timing or ignition coil or something relatively easy as it was running before or at least they said it was...

a friend of mine had a 626 and the timing belt broke on him, he replaced it and could not get it to run again, i went and looked at it, and it had 3 timing marks on each cam shaft and by watching the lifters i realized the belt was installed by the wrong timing marks, therefore it wouldn't run, but it did when i was done with it
so this maybe something of whats going on with that probe, and if thats the case then it wouldn't be hard to fix and get running

ehh, early Probes aren't that bad...
also, it's a 2.2L (Mazda F2T) not 2.3L (Ford Lima)
the F2T is a single cam, 12 valve. And yes, it has three timing marks on the cam, and I think two on the crank...Jim DeAngelis
