Thanks, I am really happy with it, I spent some time looking into what would be a great first car, and I have to say it was real close between a Samurai and a Festiva. The Festiva won outright because of how easy it is to get parts, and there is a Ford dealer 3 blocks away. There is no tray under the seat, but there is a place where one would go, I take it those are pretty rare...otherwise, why ask . As of right now, I am looking for a 5 speed for myself, I really like this little car.

Well....it is the better choice, but the parts are really not that easy to find. As far as the ford dealer forget it. Parts have been gone for a long time from there. There are a lot of people here though that will help however they can.

Ha...thought it was a rat rod type shifter but I see now that it is the key chain hanging down....lol

If it were mine, it would be a 5 speed, but being a 16 year old first timer, auto is easier. Once she gets the hang of driving, I'll teach her how to drive a manual with my Protege. Oh, are 5 speed swaps hard to do?

From what I have checked out... not really. I am about to swap a 5 speed in my auto 1988 festiva LX. I might possibly have a spare 5 speed for sale here soon.

Youre not suppose to sit on them. Just park it in the garage and look at them. If you did sit on them put a towel down first and then remove it when you get up. I wouldnt trust it to a 16 year old girl thats for sure !!

^ There you go, a girl with a Sport Festiva. Thats makes her an eight right off the bat. If she has her own money she's a ten.
