Meet new member of family

Well, i bought the car i went to look at. It's not too bad. It is a 93GL. The kid i bought it from told me you can start it, but as soon as take foot of throttle, it quits. So after i got it home, put battery in, started it up, thats exactly what happened. Then i noticed that the little black air box that sits on valve cover that connects to the air tube going to the injectors was missing. Looked in the car, found it and the hose, put it on and car now keeps running. Adjusted the throttle linkage. Now here is something else. Now it idles low, but it has a surge to it. It idles, revs just a little, idles and revs. Checked all the hoses and found nothing. Don't see anything in book about this either. Anyway, i got it for 250.00. If you can point me towards a thread that may tell me, let me know, and ty. Has a small oil leak on passenger side so i will have to take look at that also. May have to think about just using it for parts and keep it as extra

ty leapin, gives me something to look for. I wouldn't doubt it because i have found hoses with clamps off and the one part completely off

nice deal on that car man any rust im going along with the vac leak but could also be tune up anyway nice car good buy

I looked underneath for rust and there is none on the body and none that i could see underneath

Your festiva is exactly like mine. Same colour and same price.
What happened to your hood?
It looks like someone threw acid on it.
Just take it off and have it repainted.

If you want no glare have the paint shop throw Mica in the formulation to flat it out.

yea, hood and roof are like that. I'll sand it down later and get new paint job on it. I also have a 93 L. The one chopped in half and looks like truck

That is a great looker..wow, $250 ! Terrific.

Would a '93 L have the black/charcoal bumpers ? The GL have the body colored bumpers then ? I assume there were just 2 styles, choices, for '93 ?

Correct plus other trim differences.

yes, my 93L has black bumpers on it and 93GL bumpers match the car. gl has two door mirrors and rear window wiper and washer and L does not.
