      Great poem Karl!
Look- I'm with you on this one MechDj. As we almost fall in the ame category (only 200ml difference). You wouldn't beleive some of the NEGATIVE feedback we STILL cop.

contrary to all advice I'm sticking to the lowly and much mocked B3.You can't beat the fuel mileage of a properly modded B3.................I know many claim getting the same w/a
B6 but from my experience driving my friends B6 on a trip I haven't seen it.

I'll reword that to say going fast while saving gas.........

mods: home ported head,FMS cam, head milled .030th w/valve job (195-210psi compression),advanced timing, home made ram air intake from stock airbox through wheelwell & lower bumper.
On the to do list:fabricate a hedder.
This combination of parts runs almost identical to my friends B6 w/a hedder I should easily be as quick while still getting 43-46 mpg driving local roads(10-15 mile trips).

Love the poem Karl !! I also love the B3 and would never put it down. Ive never seen one wear out so that it needed rebuilt w/o some kind of serious abuse as seen on youtube. One reason I am doing a B6 swap is because the low mileage B3s are getting hard to find.

Well, im keeping the b3 in both my cars. I like them just the way they are. Besides, more horsepower would only get me in trouble. I get in enough now with them, lol.

I know of many that WILL NOT post here for the exact reasons.

I have asked about a larger engine than the 1.8, in a pm was told by a long time member here that nope, 1.8 is it foget it your stupid if you try and the whole thing was borderline abusive.

At this point in time I have only done a handful of small mods, a few that I cannot find any info on this forum, I will more than likely never post about them here as a couple go "against the grain" that is followed here.

Please don't get me wrong as I have met some way cool peeps from here, its just the modding world is not limited to what will just bolt in and something everyone else has or is doing.
Just commenting on the "borderline abusive" comment...

                    I AGREE!!!!

You two guys' quotes here say a ton to most of the experiences I've had on here about general comments period. Then if you say anything about it, you get saracastic emails threatening to kick you off the site if you're "not happy here".

yall are talking to the wrong swap gurus if your getting smack talked

fwiw, if you want to "refresh" on the cheap, rebuilding the B3 is where its at.

If your looking to do an easy upgrade for a first timer, the b6 is the bomb.

If your a go big or go home junkie like me, you buy 1 and keep it stock, then dump 1.8L+ into a second on whatever end you please

I cant even begin to tell of all the people who PM me constantly with festiva questions, mostly engine swap related. most of which the answers are easily searchable in stickies or well posted threads. Still however i answer them with the finesse of a blind balerina, only hoping somewhere along the lines they discover the search button.

Jk, i love being a helpful part of the community. Suck it up and take a number!
