What kind of condition were the tires in. Worn vs. new tires makes a huge difference.

^I was going to ask the same thing. Here in Western NY snow, sleet, rain & high winds are to be expected more often than not. Most important thing on your car here is your tires. You have bald ones in any of those conditions you're essentially in a 1.5 ton sled that is almost impossible to control. That said, even if your tires weren't bad, with enough standing water or even if the road is moist enough, you were probably quite remiss to punch it anything over 4 grand. Or to punch it at all. Don't worry, we've all had our mistakes, I've totalled a car myself doing something stupid (when I was 19 as well). Now I have a better appreciation for the scope of what can go wrong, and am a 10x better driver for it. Hopefully it'll do the same for you. Most important thing is that you didn't get hurt, cars can be rebuilt/scrapped or whatever, lives cannot.

This thread is a becoming collection of prejudices against youth and Mustangs! Good thing us young Mustang owners are secure in our own self esteem. LOL (40 IS young, right?)
BUSTIVA - Awesome picture of the Festy! I always thought a WRX scoop would be perfect on a Festiva, and your car proves it. Is that an aftermarket scoop or an authentic Subaru take-off? I was considering installing an aftermarket WRX scoop from Summit and painting the scoop and center section of the hood flat black. I think it would look good on my metallic blue Festy.Brian

i apprecite most of the comments i did not post the to ask you if you thought my car sucked if this was one of you guys i would not call your car a pos no matter if i thought it was a pos or not it just disrespectful. if i had not hit the guard rail frist and just hit the side of the over pass i would be messed up right now. but for all the people with serious comments i thank you. know on a lighter note when i went into school today my friend that called the 911 said one of the questions they ask him is dose anyone have flu like symptoms LOL i thought that was funny.and about my tires the rear tires had about 4\32 on them and the fronts had 2 or 3\32 left.

Wow...what's up with the hating? Perhaps it was a bad judgement, perhaps a bad patch of sleek road by chance. He just lost his car! I'd be really upset if I just crashed a Mustang. Im sorry for your loss man. I'm a Ford guy btw, Mustang's are sweet. Also, I'm confused about the post of the post bout what's gonna make you lose traction...in what circumstance is a wider tire gonna give you less traction?
