Yes it is, engine is running strong. The compression test before the trip was really good btw. New transmission in it too. Best mpg 45, worst 18 on the trip.

WOW!!! that is awsome! I knew that car was on its way to big things that motor was such a freak, it ran so strong and soo well. It looks like you guys had a great trip, something I always wanted to do. I hope you guys had a great time.

The Motor was out of a Mercury Tracer that took a good flipping. the car had like 35K miles on it, came from good old harrys u-pull it on the $35 sale day I miss that car alot!, but had to sell it because we had a baby.

Went from the Festy, to a Volvo 850 turbo, to a 05 SRT-4-ACR with 36k miles that i got for $13.5k. the car is amazing in many ways, but still doesn't have that road feel of the festy, even with the tokicos turned up to 5.

Good luck with the car, Its nice to know I can still feel proud of it, and it still amazes me.

Glad to know the engine is pretty low mileage. Nothing like planning a trip with a untested engine and transmission, with limited history for them haha. The car is going to be mainly my daily driver but it is going to get a respray, and a few other upgrade to make it look better.

Festivas make great road trip cars. This summer's adventure was approx. 3K RT from Mn. to Northern Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C. then down to MT and home to Mn. I found that keeping it around 60MPH will make a huge difference in MPG's on long trips. I never got under 42MPG and a few times went over 50MPG's. Have a great trip eh!!! FX
              Because....45 MPG.

Logan, you should have said something about going to Mt. Rushmore. Could have met you there or? I live in Rapid City, only 22 miles away.

Haha, I posted the route on my blog, I figured if anyone was interested they would have have checked it out. I am not one to bother people usually. We were so busy the whole trip I doubt I would have had time to meet up with many if anyone. The wife really enjoyed the trip, but she is hoping if we do it again it will be in something alittle bigger with AC. I told her I can put AC in the car and get a small trailer :-)

" I was suppose to go north of Kansas City to visit Marcus and his Festiva Ranch (multiple well kept festiva's by a man that loves them more than me), but by the time we got to KC we just wanted to get home and keep going. I promised him the next time I come through the area I will stop though, and I mean it too."
