Ive heard its a very time and money consuming thing, also you need to pretty much redo most of the engine depending on what kind of car this is going to be done on. Festiva... there is really no point, it would cost any where from 500 to 800 dollars. I think it would be easier to just buy a stick festy!

yeah i have every thing to do it. but the pedals i have the ecu and a extera harness and throttle body and tps and a cable so i think i can do it with out a major prblem. and its a little had to do when the one you accualy have a chance at is auto and no other ones

been there done that! no- it doesn't cost that much. i got my parts at 1/2 off day at a local yard...$102 was my total.... depends on what you can get the trans and a few related parts for and then your labor.
no fab work necessary... read the link above on whats needed...

and pm or post if you have questions! It really isn't that bad... seems more indimidating than it really is..

                      Thanks ejp2fast!
I was of the opinion the cost was well below 500-$800.
But thought I'd let someone who has done it clarify that point.

thank you and i will if i get the car. i really dont want to do cam and crank seals but if i do get it then i can just pull the motor and change the seals and the tranny all at once.

Well I meant buying new parts for any car... a festy would just get junk materials from broken down festys... I didnt really know what kind of car he was doing that to! :p
