I stopped at a gas station on the way home from work tonight for some liquid refreshments. While I was at the counter I noticed a guy and girl who had just left were looking at my car ( Festdiva ). I went outside and was sitting in the car for just a few seconds when the guy went back in the station and came back out still staring at the car. He was smiling so I didnt think to much of it. Then I noticed my hatch wing windows were open ( I keep them like that at work so it doesnt get so hot inside. )and got out to close them. The young guy who was in a nice late model car yells out. "Hey, thats the cleanest Festiva Ive ever seen. " Yes he said Festiva not Fiesta. I said thank you of course. Then he says "Its awesome ". I say thank you very much. As I leaving two things occur to me. First the guy couldnt have been much older than Festdiva, probably in his early twenties. And second, how cool was it that he recognized it as a festiva ( not a fiesta ) and appreciated it despite the nice new model car he was in. It made me feel good that the festiva still has curb appeal.

I stopped in at a gas station to fill up a gas can for our lawn mower, and I take the can out, and all of a sudden a cop walks towards me, and my heart starts racing, like oh no, what did I do wrong... But then he's like, how do you like that little festiva?? I was like, well, I like it very much, and couldn't be happier with it, he's like, well, i used to own one like 10 years ago, I really enjoyed the little sucker. I asked him, what year and model was it, do you remember? He's like, I THINK it was an 88, and had some label on the back that said "festiva L" (right away I was thinking, crap, no rare model) Then I asked him, was it a 5spd (not thinking that the 88 L's were 4spds) and he's like, yup! and then he asked a few mileage questions and what-not, and what I all did to the car, and then he's like, oh, now that I think of it, I think my old festiva was actually a 4spd. then I was like duhh, of course it would be a 4spd, and I told him how the 5spds were options until 1990. Then I took off (after paying for my gas) and as I was pulling out, I could see him in my mirror, just starin at the little car. days like this you just love these little cars.
BTW, nice story fresh. It reminded me a lot of ^^my story lol-Josh R

Great stories everyone!!
I live in rural Idaho near a town of 3000 and my car is on the wanted list by several of the local kids. It's like there is a waiting list and they keeping asking when I'm going to sell it to them. My 12 year old tells me all the time that when I die he want's the Festiva, he tells me to give the 68 California Special Mustang to his brother and he wants the Festiva. Ok, simplifies it for me but I'm really not planning on dying anytime soon.

Well I had a compliment this afternoon. Pulled into a tire store and the guy asked "what kind of car is that? Is it a Festiva?" I said yeah and he said that he wasn't sure because of the hood and grill. I had to explain the imported parts on the car and he told me he "hasn't seen one that nice before". Made me feel good.

About a week ago a guy in a new Caddy CTS pulled up next to me at a light, and yelled over to me:
"hey, what year is that festiva?"
me: '88...bought it new!
"You bought it new? wow!"
"Yep, great little car,, just about bulletproof... they keep going and going"
"Wow, that's really cool, man!"
I was going to ask him if he wanted to trade his CTS, but he pulled away.

I think most people love Festivas, they're just afraid to admit it. Ive never met any one who owned one that didnt have good things to say about it. I started driving Diva this week. A coworker mentioned the other day that I was driving the white one now. I told him I was trying to keep him guessing and that maybe he would think there was a new employee since it was a different car, I was joking. He said "Marcus you didnt fool me one bit, if there is any Festiva in the parking lot I know it yours ". I had to laugh.sigpic
