That video makes me cry. The old Volvo wagons were great and indestructable...
    Because....45 MPG.

I go to the insurance auto auction website occasionally. They have a special section aimed at car dealers to bring in the "clunkers", convert the title, and put them back out at auction then roll the money back to the dealers. Looks like it's just welfare for car dealers and people that drive better cars than me. Ohh, you believed the government? srry.

A major waste of a good car for sure. I can't believe somone couldn't of sold that volvo for $4500 normally, maybe it had a million miles on it which volvos are known for.

OMG. Finally checked out the video. Someone should be beaten severely for that. Nothing wrong with it, just trashed it so they could get a 4500.00 credit?? Alright, I'm done, before someone has to edit this post.

Actually it was the dealership who legally had to destroy the engine in order to get their $4500 for the program. They have to put some fluid in the engines and run it through them to destroy it. Then they send the cars to the scrappers.

Its sad because it makes the car useless in the junkyard, because most of the revenue is made off of working engines/trannies, which are required to be destroyed.
              Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
              1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
              2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.
