What CAD file format does it use? Can you convert form various auto cad files? I use Turbo Cad Pro v. 6 for example.

Charlie, I am not familiar with autocad, but you can output to .dxf right? I know I can import dxf files..

The software uses a proprietary file format, .pcm but I can input .dxf and .bmp files and convert.

Do you have any idea how you will price your work? By sq inches? Intricacy of pattern? Material thickness?

Pricing will depend on several things. size, number and length of cuts, and price of material, along with art charges for difficult to set up/convert pieces.

Simple pieces will range from a minimum of about $10 for ready to cut art, on up to crazy high prices for custom artwork signs, polished pieces, huge pieces etc..

Medium art pieces are going to hover in the 20-30 range I think...

custom made non-art pieces will be fairly inexpensive for multiple pieces, with a fair set up charge..

One off custom brackets, etc... will be charged at a shop rate of about $60 per hour plus materials.

I hear you, me too... and this machine was an inexpensive way to get at least SOME of that capability!! (at least a LITTLE...lol)
