I bought mine new in 1990. It's an lx with 380,000 miles on original engine, clutch, trans., starter, a/c with original r-12. It was a dealer left over with 80 miles on it. Still have the window sticker for it.

That's awesome! A true example of Festiva awesomeness!

bought my first festiva, a 91 GL, in october of 09. so 1 yr and 7 months.

Since Nov. 09 with the Festiva so not long. Dad has had his 91 since 97-98 with 60k now has 221k. His other one I bought in 01 or 02 with 80k and now he has it with 166k. Both are good drivers and he's not planning on getting rid of them anytime soon.

The oldest Festy thread got me wondering. How long have most people owned their Festiva. I bought Mine (Peewee) new, May 16, 1990.

Bought my first in 91. Killed it in 94. Kept buying them. 19 festivas later I've had my current for just a few months.

I am on my second. My first one was my first car, bought it may 7, 2007, so 10 and a bit years. I parked it last fall when i bought my new one but i plan to still drive it this winter. Its got 465,000km on it, i have put 245k km on it myself.
I tried to stop driving that first one a few times now. When i started dating my wife i figured i needed to move up in the world so i bought a 'better' car to replace it. Soon realized it wasnt and went back to the festiva.
Then the road trip in it for our honeymoon was supposed to be its final trip. A couple months later my newer car got totalled and i dug the festiva out of a snowbank.
Bought a replacement for the newer car but couldnt make myself park the festiva. So i drove it till it was too rusty and bought another festiva. But i still like it so i think ill drive it this winter.
So its been a daily driver for basically 9 years.

All you guys that have had yours for 20 plus years- how much have you driven them in that time?

I guess its been about 24 years now. As I get them retagged I'm going for the "Historical Vehicle" tags. Makes them even more economical, no more inspections, no more renewal fees, no more sitting in the DMV. Property taxes are about $12 per year and insurance for $47 for six months of liability. Still enjoy driving them! ^ Hey Paul:wave:

Bought mine in June of 16. So had mine 1yr and 2 months and still going.

First Festiva- Diana- Red 88 4 speed bought in September 1997- 175K miles, sold 2011, 275,000 miles, plus (speedo cable broke then)

Silver 96 Aspire bought 2002, 35 K miles, still DD with 124,000 roughly

Red 91 - bought 2014 - still parked and tinkering (it's winning) 75k

So 20 years now Festiva and/or Aspire driver
