  • 323 F series tranny question

is anybody here running a 323 f series tranny? I just bought a 89 mercury tracer (basically a bf 323) with the f series trans, and i`m getting ready to drop a b6t into it. I have found some clutches for it, but only oem spec for 86-89 323's. There are some cheap stage one clutches on ebay, but they are listed for 90-94 323's. My question is, does anyone know if the input shaft spline count is the same from 86-94 on the 323 f series tranny? any help is appeciated.

im running one in my bpt aspire. im acually using a 94 protege 1.8sohc clutch and flywheel. im using a stage 3 off of ebay that grabs very nice. hope this helps. also match ur flywheel with the clutch so if you get a protege clutch use their flywheel also.

so far it has handled daily abuse. 14000 miles on the bpt setup and about 20000 on the bp. still shifts smooth and havent had a problem yet. im not gonna lie its had some pretty abusing things lol. i would reccommed using it. plus the axle configuration is way easier than a g series.

I have to definately agree on this, i used and F series on my BP swap and it worked great, plus you wouldn't have to modify the intermediate shaft to work with the BP

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
