I vote for the Festy first.
See...someone can still figure out what the original question was with all the misdirection on this thread. LOL

            You're not out-voted. I'll take that as a vote for the 323.

                Jon,

You don't know if you are out voted until the voting is over. he he

My thinking was that since he hasn't had the 323 long, he might want to do the Festy first and drive the 323 stock for a while. Enjoy it stock and be sure he knows all the rattles and quirks (not to mention any creaks or groans) in the car before swapping it. That way, if he hears things after the swap, he would know if it was something new or old.

Casper wasn't built to be turbo'ed...

My vote is on the 1.3 Festiva.

Hmmm............I have 3 good turbos from '79 Mustangs. They were a 2.3L "draw-through" design where the turbo sat on top of the intake manifold and the carb set on top of the turbo. (engine fire waiting to happen). I wonder if they're too big for a 1.3 or a 1.8?

They will work, but will spool late. Any boost is better than no boost.

true... before i pulled out my b3 to swap in the b6t me and my friends took a GIANT leaf blower and hooked it up to the intake of the b3 then drove down the road and reved it up... it made about 1psi of boost and i could feel it lol...

That's my thought as well. I think I would certainly want a B8 or BP and mount the turbo under the hood, as close to the exhaust manifold as possible. Would also want to keep the compression up there. Probably would work OK on a stock BP/Auto trans in a race application where you can stay in the boost.

Guess I could always use 2 of them and twin-turbo my 5.8L F250! Plenty of room under the hood. I could convert it to MAF, add 8.5:1 forged pistons, GT40P heads, a mild roller cam and a custom tune........................Should make a good trailer puller out of it. Yeah, that'll happen.
