I'm a little hunk of tin, nobody knows what shape I'm in. I've got four wheels and a running board, I'm not a Chevy, I'M A FORD!

So if i can make 300-400 at the wheels in a lighter car, then i stand a fighting chance

but that won't be til next winter when i boost the KL

      1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I bet a turbo KL-ZE in a Festiva could do close to that

Problem is getting that 300 HP Festy to hook up all the power to the road. With such a light car and such relatively narrow tires (fairly limited selection even w/tall spring perches, Aspire swap, etc), launch traction is always an issue.

Focustiva: Because I was told it was was impossible to fit a Focus bumper on a Festiva.

If one had the space, could they not do a sort of 'tub' on the front end?

Front would work better for big tires but the lack of weight over the front tires, and the cars tendency to lift in the front, just don't put enough downward force to keep the tires from spinning with that much power, so you have to feather the gas and don't use all that power. So its like not even having it.

I think that these problems could be solved if one was serious enough about drag racing their car, though it may lead to a less than streetable application.
