      1.6 liter version of the stock engine (1.3). It's quite a popular upgrade.

                It shouldn't be a problem to get that engine through emissions.

                  I hope so..... FestivaGTX PM'd me some parts advice that might help. I'll keep you all posted, I'm taking it in the morning. Kinda scary, the mechanic tried to argue with me when I told him it had a carburetor. Then he looked.......

                  --Whatever an 'ECU' is. I dunno. BTW, thanks for moving this discussion, what a FUN car!

                        Here we go!! My mechanic retarded the timing, adjusted the carburetor and voila!! Smog check passed!!
