I was taking offense to it. I am an American, been here all my life. I have a brain, although I know I'm certainly not the smartest guy around. Smart enough to get through engineering shool though. I work in a factory where we manufacture products and we compete directly with Asian companies. So I do know a thing or two about quality control, statistical analysis, process capability, etc.....

I believe the post was about a guy who bought a Honda. Then people were bashing him and saying Hondas are junk(more or less).

I defended Honda as being a top quality auto manufacturer(which you just agreed with me on), and you just beat me in the head for it. Not quite understanding that.

By the way, I believe it was you who stated in another post(maybe it was someone else) that in these reports that you read, that the high end cars such as Lexus and Acura typically rated lower than the mainstream counterparts, Toyota and Honda respectively here. If so, how can Lexus now be at the top of the list, and Toyota be below Caddy?

I don't buy that. From everything I've ever seen.........Nope, not going to go there, you might pop a vain.

you're correct. that was me in another post. and I had the data in front of me when I wrote that one. I may be remembering somewhat incorrectly this evening.

I never said Hondas were bad cars. I just hate seeing folks needlessly bash the domestics. If proper research is done, then you'll see the results I do.

And for what its worth, I hold little regard for college degrees. I teach at a college, and I've seen first hand from both sides of the desk exactly what's needed to get that piece of paper. I'm not implying anything about you, I don't know you well enough to make any statement like that. But I evaluate people on performance, not what piece of paper hangs on their wall.

I wasn't trying to bash the domestics, I was just defending Honda. There are many good domestic cars, but there are quite a few problem ones as well. From what I have seen(and no I have not read the data you are looking at) Toyota does not make a bad car(I'm talking models here, not individual vehicles. I'm sure they have lemons just like everyone else).

All the cars I have ever owned have been domestics(Ford, Chevy and Dodge). I have never owned a Toyota or Honda. Well I shouldn't say that, I once bought a 70's vintage Honda Civic station wagon at an auction for $75. That was a heap. The engine ran like a top, but everything else was pretty much falling apart.

But, if I were in the market for a new vehicle(which I'm not), I'd most likely get a Toyota. Just haven't been able to afford one yet since they hold their value so well. Last time I bought a vehicle, my Escort was several thousand dollars cheaper than an equivalent Corolla, so I couldn't justify getting it. The escort was rated pretty well according to the data available to me, so I went with it.

Well, thank you for taking the high road this morning. i must apologize for my behavior last night. I really don't know what got into me. I am usually more open than that. I hope I did not offend you too much.
